As a key technical mentor, the ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) specialist capable of onboarding new operators, leading format changeover workshops, and standardizing safety and quality best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

1. Classroom & Hands-on Technical Instruction

  • Conduct structured classroom sessions and floor-level instruction for Junior and Senior Machine Operators on standard day-shift hours.

  • Deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) training on safe machine startup, continuous automated monitoring, material stream flow management, and speed/pressure parameter adjustments.

  • Instruct operators on routine equipment lubrication checks, fluid management, and basic preventive maintenance for embossers, perforation units, and core-making systems.

2. Format Changeovers & Mechanical Troubleshooting Mastery

  • Lead dedicated instructional workshops on product format configurations, mechanical realignments, and tooling changeovers.

  • Train operators to strip, adjust, and replace mechanical parts and tooling elements safely to minimize production downtime.

  • Teach systematic technical troubleshooting techniques to identify, isolate, and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and operational faults on conversion lines.

3. Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance Training

  • Train operators on conducting 100% self-quality inspection checks to ensure finished products adhere strictly to specifications.

  • Instruct line personnel on accurate daily form completion, downtime logging, and updating visual management controls (whiteboard trackers).

  • Enforce strict compliance with OSHA safety protocols, ISO 9001:2015 quality criteria, and FSC-certified sustainability guidelines for raw material handling.

4. Performance Assessment & Continuous Improvement

  • Audit operator documentation, downtime logs, material scrap reports, and paper roll vouchers to verify operational understanding.

  • Evaluate operator performance, provide structured feedback, and collaborate with Production Team Leaders to eliminate skill gaps across shifts.

  • Optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce scrap generation and improve key operating metrics.
